Soccer 

(Ages 5 – 8 and 8 – 12 at Education Fields)

Children and youth will have an opportunity to learn individual and team soccer skills from high quality instructors. Fun games, drills and regular scrimmages make this an excellent learning experience! Skills will be modified for each group to ensure a positive learning experience. 

Basketball 

(Ages 8 – 12 at Education Building)

Children will learn the basic basketball skills from experienced instructors in a safe, controlled environment. Individual and team skills, as well as fun games and drills, will round out the week. The week’s activities will be held in the Education Gymnasium.

Mini Basketball 

(Ages 5 – 8 at Education Building)

This camp is designed with the younger child in mind. Children will learn the basic basketball skills from experienced instructors in a safe, controlled environment and activities will be modified so children have a positive introductory experience. Individual and team skills, as well as fun games and drills, will round out the week in the Education Gymnasium.

Golf and Tennis

(Ages 8 – 12 at Education Fields)

This camp exposes children to the lifetime activities of golf and tennis. Instructors teach a variety of skills and allow for a great deal of individual practice. Tennis racquets and limited golf equipment is provided. Children may wish to bring their own, but storage space is not provided.

In-Line Skating

(Ages 5- 8 at University of Saskatchewan Campus)

Participants will learn the basic skills involved with in-line skating, right from putting on skates to various skating skills. Activities include obstacle courses, campus tours and entertaining games and drills. Children must provide their own skates, helmet, and protective equipment (elbow, knee and wrist protectors).

Sports “R” Fun

(Ages 5 – 8 at Education Fields)

This camp is designed with the younger child in mind. This camp is a great opportunity to get children involved in a number of sports and activities. It is a non-competitive setting with the focus on learning skills, fitness, socialization, skill development and fun. Children will receive instruction in several different sports during the course of the week. 

Sports “R” Fun and Wall Climbing

(Ages 8 – 12 at Education Building and PAC Climbing Wall)

This camp is a great opportunity to get children involved in a number of sports and activities. It is a non-competitive setting with the focus on learning skills, fitness, socialization, skill development and fun. Children will receive instruction in other sports and will experience climbing the wall in the PAC. Experienced and certified climbers will belay for the children during this week. Please note waiver forms MUST be filled out prior to children being allowed on the wall. 

How the Body Moves

(Ages 5- 8 at Physical Activity Complex)

Children in this camp gain experience in the basic movement patterns of gymnastics. The facilities available at the Physical Activity Complex allow for exposure to specific skills with apparatus. Many skills are taught in a game setting, which makes this camp enjoyable for younger participants.

Football

(Ages 8 – 12 at Education Fields)

Participants will learn individual skills such as throwing, catching and kicking. Also, team skills like patterns and on field positions will be taught. A variety of fun games and drills make this camp enjoyable for everyone.

Track and Field

(Ages 8 – 12 at University of Saskatchewan Campus )

A variety of track and field events are covered through this camp. Children will gain experience in sprints, middle and long distance running, jumping and throwing activities at numerous locations on the University of Saskatchewan campus including Griffiths stadium.

Sports and Water Mania

(Ages 5 – 8 at Education Fields and Education Pool)

This is an excellent chance for children to stay for a whole day of activities if they participated in the morning session or to come for an afternoon of fun. Children will participate in a variety of cooperative games over the course of the week. Activities will be based on fun, social interaction and skill development as well as introduction to a number of sports. Children will also get a chance to participate in some structured pool time each day. Pool time may include water safety skills but will mostly consist of co-operative games. All children are required to wear pfd’s in the pool sessions.

Mountain Biking

(Ages 8 – 12 at University of Saskatchewan Campus)

This camp is designed for more advanced riders. Children should be comfortable riding on a variety of terrains. During this week, children will learn skills such as safety, trail riding skills and fitness. A road safety session may be provided by City Police and Campus Security officers. Children must provide their own bicycle (with hand brakes) and a CSA approved helmet. 

Lacrosse

(Ages 8 – 12 – Education Fields)

A variety of lacrosse skills are covered in this camp. Campers will experience throwing and receiving skills, team concepts as well as introduction to the rules of field lacrosse (outdoors). Children must provide their own CSA approved helmet, full face shield and mouth guards.

Racquet Sports

(Ages 8 – 12 at PAC courts)

This camp introduces children to the sports of racquetball, squash, tennis, and badminton. Fundamental skills such as serving, volleying, and concepts such as rules, and strategy will be taught. Only limited equipment is available so children are encouraged to bring their own. Children MUST provide their own protective eyewear.

Ultimate Frisbee 

(Ages 8-12 at Education Fields)

The Ultimate Frisbee Camp is an excellent opportunity for children to learn the basics of one of the hottest sports on Campus! Children will learn the basics of throwing, catching as well as team concepts and rules. Other co-operative games and sports will be introduced throughout the week to compliment the lessons and round out the week.

Volleyball

(Ages 8 –12 at Education Gym)

The volleyball camp will provide children with the basic skills necessary to play volleyball. Team concepts, and basic skills will be covered throughout the week and modified to ensure a positive experience is had by all.

NEW Games Galore

(Ages 5-8 at Education Gym and Fields)

This camp is designed for the younger child in mind. This experience is a great opportunity for children to learn fun and safe cooperative games with little need for specialized equipment or spaces. Games include tag games, low organizational team games and skill related games. 

NEW Triathlon 

(Ages 8-12 at Education Pool and Fields)

Try this unique sport that combines three sports: swimming, biking and running. This camp offers children ages 8-12 years instruction and practice of the basic skills in all three sports. Games, drills and simulations will be incorporated to provide a fun and dynamic environment. No previous skills in swimming, biking or running are required. The skill levels will be assessed so that the children are placed in groups that fit their experience, skill and fitness levels. Children must provide their own CSA approved helmet and mountain bike.
